but oh god, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles!

okay, just for the record, that lyric is my favorite to sing dramatically. you have to do it desperately, like you're telling someone that you have to stay behind and be killed by the earthquake. OH GOD IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL WHEN THE BOY SMILES. OH GOD. SO BEAUTIFUL. GOD. hahahaha in other news: i watched "deep impact" earlier, which i've never seen before, and it was wonderful. i kind of just love movies where disaster strikes, because everything is so fucking improbable. "the day after tomorrow", anyone? you know what, i can't even comment on it because anything i would say just wouldn't be as funny as the actual movie. that's all there is to it. (i'll give you a hint: there are wolves in it. hahahahaha i love that movie so much, i should see it again.)

ETA: i actually decided to come back and talk a little more about disaster movies. if perhaps you haven't seen the epic movie "the day after tomorrow" and are opposed to going into waterford because you're afraid mrs. nagel might have had a guest role in "how to kill a monster", i recommend this. okay, the end, back to the previous entry.

in other news, i went to dubuque this weekend with a hobo i found on the side of the road (hahaha also known as...louis)to visit alyssa (of uiowa fame). at first i thought it was probable that we would end up in kansas and die, but the journey was actually really smooth and trouble-free and i only shit myself about four times. don't worry, it's a condition, your sympathy only makes it worse. anyway, we ended up having a kickass time, which included some canoe-ing (i know! you thought that i couldn't even pick up a paddle! but you were wrong!), some visiting a cute little coffee house called "miguel's", and some going to a farm where i think signs was seriously filmed and having a bonfire. all in all, a great weekend, and the iowa sky is definitely the prettiest-ass thing you will ever see, day or night. i am still in awe of it, fo' real.

also, it was recently discovered that one pamela a. murray makes $97,000 a year at lemont high school. this leaves us with one question: when did gucci start making snowman turtlenecks, and how soon can i get one?

alright, well, maybe i'll give a longer update sometime in the future, but until then, i'll say goodnight, tuscaloosa. call me and we'll go out for starbucks, fo' real, because i have not had a frapp in 3929332 years.

<3,

rachel

Thanks ho

Thanks ho for updating. I can't believe you were involved in
canoe-age in Iowa. Was Ms. Murray there buying $97,000 worth of snowman turtlenecks?

P.s. Remember when Mr. Sklom's name is Emanuel. That sounds like a telemundo star....or Elizabeth Smart's abductor.Hmmmmm.
